NKS was born from a dream of diversity and unity in 2007, envisioned by BJ, who grew up in Dallas, TX. That year, BJ experienced a life-changing event that set the foundation for what NKS would become. Growing up, BJ always felt different and found a sense of belonging in the skateboarding community, where diversity and uniqueness were celebrated. This inspired the creation of NKS, a brand that embraces being the "new kid on the block," no matter the context—school, work, or life in general.
